I used to be a Music Education major with a Voice Proficiency, and I play the French horn. I not major in Musical Theatre at Lancaster Bible College! I have amazing friends and an even more amazing family! We're all not perfect, but we learn to love. That's what counts.
I was kicked out of my beloved Christian college for sin that had ruled my life. Ultimately, God stripped away everything dear to me in order to grab a hold of my life. I'm glad He did. Now, I'm discovering the journey. This is my Path.
"God knows."
This weekend I was able to go along with a group of my classmates to Chicago and help out a couple of churches. It was a great experience. We went to downtown Chicago by train to help out a church there. We broke up into groups and passed out flyers for this brand, new church. Some even had witnessing opportunities. After we did that, we returned to the church and had dinner there, and they gave us the rest of the time after that to just explore Chicago. We wandered in groups, so that we wouldn't get lost. My group and I went to Borders, and I bought a new Bible, New King James Version, for only ten dollars. We didn't do too much in Chicago, and we headed back to the other church. On the train, I sat down next to a woman whom God was convicting me to talk to. I tried to strike a conversation and noticed that she had an accent, I asked her where she was from. She said she was from Bosnia. I found out that she was a Muslim, and I started asking about her beliefs. She believes that the Bible is true, but she also believes that Muslims only go to heaven by good works. I asked her about those who don't believe in Islam. She said, "God knows." Isn't that what most beliefs are about? So I said to her, "Jesus said that no one comes to the Father (God) but through him (Jesus). How can we go to heaven by our good works if Jesus said that?" Right then, her countenance changed, and you could see that she realized that something was wrong with the view that only good people go to heaven. Unfortunately, that is also where my stop was. I thanked her for her time and was unable to finish our conversation. I don't know if she has or will accept Jesus as her Savior, but as she said, "God knows." I had no idea what to say to that woman or why I should have even talked to her, but as she said, "God knows."
The Titans of Tennis Fall in Pacific Life Open
Federer is amazing! He is probably one of the best of all time. But his winning streak has finished at 41 at the Pacific Life Open. Guillermo Canas has put his name in the books as one of the few who has been able to defeat Roger. Not an easy task. Lucky for him, he gets to advance in the tournament. For Roger, he gets to go home. Tough for him, though, because he probably wanted to win this one. It's a big tourney, and he has records to break, people to beat, and a position to hold.
Federer's not the only one hurting because of defeat in the Pacific Life Open. Lleyton Hewitt and James Blake are out as well. Even though Lleyton has been in this business for a while and James is bringing talent back, they didn't do so well. Not this tournament... Back to the blackboard, boys. It's time to get cranking for the next one!
As devastating as it is for Federer, Hewitt, and Blake, they can learn many lessons from this because they defeated themselves in this tournament.
I've got to say that Rafael Nadal is my favorite tennis player. Unfortunately, he hasn't been in a final since Wimbledon last year. That last tournament he won was Roland Garros. I really hope that he could win more than he has been lately. He lost against Mikhail Youzhny 6-7 (5-7), 3-6 in the Dubai Championships; Rafa is the defending Champ. Don't worry, Rafa. I hope for a better tomorrow! Information found on yahoo.com:
